Description
Formed by 100 small producers in 2014, Asproguate represents over 1,500 members in order to promote consistent advancement for members and their community. The community is 90% ethnic, with the Cakchiquel and Tzutujil people, who are indigenous Mayan. Education in best practices and longterm buying relationships are priorities. Constant eruptions from the nearby Fuego Volcano keep the coarse, sandy soils full of minerals.
